Quilt of the Quarter

Hazelwood

A special quilt for a mother’s 90th birthday gift. It has been designed specifically to show off the main fabric – “ Hazelwood” – this being the family name.

Blocks of 12½ ins / 32cms showcase the focal fabric of dusky pink roses with green stems and leaves on a cream background. These are framed with plain dusky pink of 1in / 2.5cm . Sashing strips are 3ins / 7.5cms, the inner strips being pale green and the outer a darker shade of green in delicate self-patterned fabrics. Sashing stars in a dusky pink mini print enhance the feature blocks and the outer border of 4¼ ins / 11cms in darker dusky shades provides a bold frame for the quilt.
